[Introduction]
Hello, everybody and welcome back to The Bostonian Sports Hub, the Most Bostonia Sports Podcast. I’m your host, as always Hannah Chadwick, and it’s great to be back.
This week, we are going to discuss what to expect from the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers during the 2018 MLB world series.
Now as we enter the beginning of the series between the two teams we are excited to see some incredible things from the athletes.
The Red Sox are on top and a favorite, ending their regular season with 108 wins. But on the other side the Dodgers are out for revenge after a series lose last year.
With one team on top and the other team being resilient underdogs we will see who can get the best of seven.
[Body]
To start with this matchup between two of the original baseball teams we look at the bullpen.
Statistically wise the Sox starters have had a better regular season on the mound, but for post season the starters for the dodgers show up.
The soxs biggest obstacle they will face this series is the inconsistency some of their relief pitchers have, including Kimbril who decided to give every boston fan a heart attack as he walked and hit multiple players in the bottom of the eighth innings against the Houston Astros.
Defensive wise Dodgers have a strong infield. Shortstop Manny Machado has the best statics between the very gifted sox Xander Bogaerts.
The Dodgers also statistically outshine the sox on first base and third, but in the Soxs defense due to injury and other issues the sox haven't had a consistent infield throughout the season which makes it hard to compare.
Lastly offensively both teams can score no questions, but i’ll have to give the sox this part. With Jackie Bradley Jr. Showing up this postseason so far we are sure to see some more incredible things from him.
J.D Martinez is also all business when up to bat. Having one of the best up to bat careers for the sox Martinez will give the Dodgers some competition.
Overall i think the Red Sox will take this one in five. Dodgers have a lot of heart and will not make this a blow out or even an easy series. They have gotten lucky this postseason and they hope they will keep that luck entering the week.
As for the Red Sox their inconsistently throughout the field and and bullpin will be their enemy. They are the favorite but have a history of giving up big opportunities like this just by not showing up.
[Ending]
This will not be an easy series for either team. The team who wants it most and shows up will end up on top.
See you next week for the new episode of The Bostonian Sports Hub where we will discuss the future for Tom Brady and The New England Patriots.
